Sochi (pps) The International Luge Federation, FIL, has again raised the budget for transport costs. The already generous budget was raised by another 60,000 Euro. This was announced by FIL Vice President of Finance Harald Steyrer during the Viessmann Luge World Cup in Sochi, Russia. The reason for the increase: the two cost intensive journeys of FIL Member Federations to the future Olympic host city. The national federations had to travel and bring all the material and sleds to Russia’s Black Sea coast for the International Training Week in November 2012 and then again for the season’s final, at the same time an Olympic test event for the upcoming 2014 Winter Games.
