Seoul (pps) For the first time in its history dating back almost 50 years, the International Luge Federation is represented in a Commission of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

At the World Sport Congress „SportAccord“ in Seoul (Korea), FIL President Josef Fendt was suggested and appointed to the IOC Commission „Sport and Environment“ as representative of the Association of International Olympic Winter Sports Federations (AIOWF).

The chairman of the Commission is Pal Schmidt from Hungary, Olympic team champion in fencing in 1968 and 1972, and ambassador of his home country of Switzerland since 1999.
