FIL Statement about decision taken by CAS

Berchtesgaden (RWH) The FIL has registered the decision made by CAS in the matter of 39 Russian athletes versus the IOC. The CAS has confirmed the decision of the FIL Disciplinary Commission. The FIL’s Disciplinary Commission was unable to ascertain with full conviction that the two athletes had violated anti-doping regulations at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.

The FIL Disciplinary Committee came to the conclusion that Tatyana Ivanova and Albert Demchenko could not be proved to have committed a doping offense at the 2014 Sochi Olympics on the basis of the documents available.

Whether Tatyana Ivanova and Albert Demchenko may participate at the Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang is a decision of the IOC.
