FIL Supports Safe Sport Day 2025 – “Prevent, Protect, Perform”

Berchtesgaden (FIL/08 Aug 2025) The International Luge Federation (FIL) proudly joins the global sporting community in celebrating Safe Sport Day 2025. Held annually on August 8, the day recognizes the individuals and organisations dedicated to making sport safe for everyone – especially children.
Under the motto “Prevent – Protect – Perform”, the FIL reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of luge and ensuring the health and welfare of all participants. This includes developing best-in-class policies, awareness campaigns, education, enforcement, and research to create a positive, trusted sport culture free of maltreatment.
“Everyone has a role to play in making sport safe,” said Stephen Harris, FIL Sport Integrity Manager. “We’ve committed to keeping participants safe in luge every day – we encourage all sports to join us in making that commitment too.”
The FIL calls on athletes, coaches, parents, and fans to take the Safe Sport Pledge at safeinsport.org and be part of #TeamSafeSport.
