High attendance at the FIL Luge World Cup on Natural Track in Vatra Dornei (ROU). Romanian sports minister Ionut Stroe took a look at the 2017 World Championships track where the minister met with FIL Vice-President Peter Knauseder.

The sports minister was extremely interested in Luge on Natural Track and took plenty of time to marvel at the doubles competiton runs and the single-seater training sessions. The sports minister also inquired about the technical development in this sport. The minister also talked about the topic Olympic Wintergames. “Minister Stroe is enthusiastic about Luge on Natural Track, he likes the speed, the action. And the fact that a large number of spectators were along the track also impressed the minister of sport, ”said Peter Knauseder after the conversation. “Romania wants to promote Luge on Natural Track in the Olympic program. The front of supporters is getting wider, ”said the FIL Vice President.
The visit of the 46-year-old sports minister Ionut Stroe at the FIL Luge World Cup on Natural Track is a clear signal that this environmentally friendly winter sport is becoming increasingly attractive.
