All over Europe a lot of winter sport events have to be cancelled due to warm weather, but the organizers of the second stop of the Natural Track Luge World Cup in Umhausen do not see a problem for their event. The “Grantau” race track is situated well hidden from sun rays in a narrow valley in the Tyrolian Alps and track conditions will allow racing on upcoming Friday and Saturday. Just like at the season opening in Latsch (ITA) also in Umhausen the men´s and the women´s single seater runs will be held as a night event on Saturday. The doubleseaters will open the event in the afternoon under daylight conditions.
As World Cup leaders Patrik Pigneter (ITA), in nine races undefeated Ekatharina Lavrentjeva (RUS) and Reinhard Beer/Herbert Kögl (AUT) will come to Umhausen, where the 2006 European Championships have been held last winter.
