Final EBERSPÄCHER Luge World Cup in St. Moritz

St. Moritz

Altenberg (FIL): The 9th EBERSPÄCHER Luge World Cup 2020/21 will take place in St. Moritz (Switzerland) from February 5-7th 2021. This was announced by the International Luge Federation, FIL on December 4th 2020.

After the 2019 European Junior Championships and races for the 2020 Youth Olympic Games in St. Moritz had been perfectly organized, the FIL officials are pleased to be able to hold a luge World Cup on the world's only naturally iced luge track. This will be the first time it will be hosted here for nine years. FIL Executive Director Christoph Schweiger: „We thank the track operator in St. Moritz and Swiss-Sliding for their willingness to take over this race at short notice". Most recently, a Luge World Cup was held in the Swiss winter sports resort of St. Moritz on January 28-29th 2012“.

Originally, the final of the EBERSPÄCHER World Cup 2020/21 was scheduled for February 19-21st 2020, on the new Olympic track at the Yanqing National Sliding Center in China. The training week and the test competition in China had to be postponed to Autumn 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the associated travel restrictions.
