Both competition days soldout with a total 6,000 spectators

Whistler (pps) The final of the Viessmann Luge World Cup experiences an undreamt of spectator’s interest. Both competition days at the “Whistler Sliding Centre” are completely sold out with 3,000 tickets.

Thus, a total of 6,000 luge enthusiasts will follow the luge races on Friday (February 20, 2009) in the women’s singles (13:00 hrs local time / 22:00 hrs CET) and in the double-seater (16:30 hrs local time / 01:30 hrs CET on Saturday) as well as on Saturday (February 21, 2009) in the men’s singles (17:00 hrs local time / 02:00 CET on Sunday).

One year prior to the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver on February 12, 2010, the media interest is incredibly high. In order to get everything under control, the organizers now decided to set up an additional trailer to further enlarge the media centre. Already more than 100 applications for accreditation have been filed with the organizers.
