Oberhof (pps). Germany´s Jan Eichhorn at his home track in Oberhof (Germany) celebrated his first success in World Cup and his first place on the podium in World Cup at all. Eichhorn, fourth at World Championships, won in a total time of one minute 28,054 seconds followed by his teammate and World Champion David Möller (one minute 28,130 seconds). European Champion Albert Demtschenko (one minute 28,175 seconds) from Russia finished third.
The winner of the overall ranking in Viessmann Luge World Cup was already fixed before the finals in Oberhof. Olympic Champion and five times World Champion Armin Zöggeler from Italy, who renounced to a start in Oberhof because of extra-training at the Olympic track in Cesana Pariol, won with 544 points. Second in overall ranking was David Möller with 506 points and got his best result in overall ranking. after rank three in the years 2004 and 2005. Rank three went to Tony Benshoof (498) from USA, who finished fifth in Oberhof.
