Berchtesgaden (pps) The 2006/2007 Viessmann World Cup series will start in Cesana Pariol/Turin. It was now decided that the season will begin at the 2006 Olympic track already on November 18/19, 2006. Prior to the first Viessmann World Cup, an International Training Week is scheduled to be held in preparation for the World Championships in Innsbruck-Igls.

With this, the Viessmann World Cup series will now take place on nine tracks in three continents.

The season’s opening in Turin is followed by two races in North America - Park City, USA (December 1-2, 2006) and Calgary, Canada (December 8-9, 2006). Afterwards, the World Cup will travel to Japan (December 16-17, 2006) with Nagano hosting the first event since the 2004 World Championships.

Three events will then take place in Germany after the Christmas break – Koenigssee (January 6-7, 2007), Oberhof (January 13-14) and Altenberg (January 19-21). The World Championships on the Olympic track in Innsbruck-Igls to be held on February 2-4, 2007, will be the highlight of the post-Olympic winter. After the World Championships, the Viessmann World Cup series will be concluded at Winterberg, Germany (February 10-11) and Sigulda, Latvia (February 17-18, 2007).

The four events of the Suzuki Challenge Cup will be carried out in Park City, Oberhof, Altenberg and Sigulda. Team events have been scheduled for Calgary, Nagano, Koenigssee and Winterberg.
