Oberhof (pps) Germany’s Silver Medallists André Florschütz/Torsten Wustlich won at the 40th FIL Luge World Championships in Oberhof their third title. Florschütz/Wustlich, who won already 2001 and 2005 the Gold Medal, realized the victory in a total time of one minute 26,893 seconds. Silver went Germany’s new talents Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt (0,092 seconds back). The Bronze Medal was captured by Austria’s Tobias Schiegl/Markus Schiegl.
Defending Champion Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch made a big mistake at the start of first run as well as Italy’s European Champions Christian Oberstolz/Patrick Gruber. While the Olympic Champions finished after a mistake in the second run just on 11th place, Oberstolz/Gruber even did not qualify for the final.
