Former European Champion Natalia Khoreva calls time on her career

Moscow (RWH)  The Russian luger Natalia Khoreva, who was European Champion in 2014, has retired from the sport. The 30-year-old, who failed to qualify for the Russian team competing in last season’s Viessmann Luge World Cup, announced her decision in a letter to the Russian national association.

Back in 2014 the PE teacher from Moscow not only clinched the European title in Sigulda, Latvia, but also snatched a place in the Olympic starting line-up from her teammate Alexandra Rodionova at the last minute. Khoreva finished eighth at the Winter Games in Sochi, having come tenth four years earlier.
