Lake Placid (pps) Dr. Scott Parazynski, who was a member of the U.S. luge team from 1984 to 1988, was one of seven crew members on board the space shuttle Discovery which blasted off Tuesday, Oct. 23, from the Kennedy Space Center. During the two-week mission, the crew will deliver a new live-in compartment to the international space station and make five spacewalks.
