Corrado Hérin († 52) was killed in an aircraft crash in Aosta Valley (ITA) on Sunday, March 31st. With the small plane the former natural track luger and passionate hobby pilot wanted to sprinkle confetti on a celebrating crowd.

Corrado Hérin won the gold medal at the 1986 World Championships in Fénis and 1992 in Bad Goisern in the doubles with his partner Almir Bétemps, at the 1990 World Cup in Gsiesertal/Valle di Casies he won the silver medal in single and in doubles. In the season 1993/1994 Hérin/Bétemps won the overall standings in the doubles.

After his luge career Hérin became a cyclist and won the bronze medal in downhill at the Mountain Bike World Championships in Vail (USA) in 1994, in 1997 the Italian won the overall ranking in the Downhill World Cup.

Corrado Hérin (August 4th 1966 - March 31st 2019) leaves a wife and two children.
