Königssee (pps) Germany’s Silke Kraushaar-Pielach began the new year like she finished the old one. At the 4th Viessmann Luge World Cup at Königssee the Olympic Champion from 1998 celebtrated her 4th victory of the season and the 32nd overall. She won in a total time of one minute 36,154 seconds followed by her team-mates Tatjana Hüfner (1:36,332), Anke Wischnewski (1:36,500) and Olympic Champion Sylke Otto (1:36,641).
Julia Clukey (USA) finished on 5th place (1:37,202) followed by her team-mate Erin Hamlin (1:37,284) and erned the ticket for the World Championships at Igls (february 2 to 4).
In the overall standings Kraushaar-Pielach is still in the lead with 485 points followed by Hüfner (385), Wischnewski (350) and Otto (310).
