Four Youth A World Cups / Continental Cups in Europe for YOG qualification

Pyeongchang (FIL/30.11.2023) It starts in 50 days. From January 19 to February 1, 2024, 1,900 winter athletes from 70 countries will compete against each other in seven sports and 15 disciplines at the first Youth Olympic Winter Games (YOG) in Asia.

The young luge athletes will qualify for the YOG 2024 in Gangwon, South Korea, via the four Youth A World Cups/Continental Cups in Europa.

Nine Youth Continental Cups will be held in five countries and on three continents in the winter of 2023/2024. Qualification for the Gangwon 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games will be decided in the first competitions at the beginning of December 2023 in Europe.

Four Youth A World Cups / Continental Cups in Europe for YOG qualification

The first and second Youth A World Cup / Continental Cups will take place on December 1 and 2, 2023 in Winterberg (GER). The races can be followed live on BSD-TV at the following link: https://bsd-tv.de/#/livestream/index/winterberg

Team Korea, Gangwon 2024

Two races in Asia

The young athletes from South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and Ukraine will compete at the 9th Asian Championships and the Continental Cup at the Olympic Luge Center in PyeongChang (KOR) on 2 and 3 December 2023. The races will be broadcast live on both days on the YouTube channel of the Korean Luge Federation. For the athletes who will represent Korea at the YOG, the results of the 9th Asian Championships and the Continental Cup in PyeongChang are the qualification. (The athletes can fulfill the minimum requirement of the FIL with this race and thus achieve the starting places/quota places of the host country).
The ranking list with the starting places of the individual nations for the Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024 will be finalized before Christmas.
