Oberhof (pps) World Champions David Möller and Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch have been successful in defending their titles at the German Luge Championships recently held in Oberhof. In the women’s singles competition, Junior World Champion Natalie Geisenberger (Miesbach) captured the German crown for the first time. At the venue of the 2008 World Championships she won the competition ahead of 1998 Olympic champion Silke Kraushaar-Pielach and World Champion Tatjana Hüfner.
Two weeks before the season’s first Viessmann World Cup in Lake Placid in the U. S. state of New York (November 16/17), Möller raced to a track record in the first run and captured his third title in a row ahead of Jan Eichhorn. The bronze medal went to Felix Loch.
Leitner/Resch scored their forth national title after 1999, 2003 and 2007. The Olympic silver medalists Andre Florschütz/Torsten Wustlich reached rank two ahead of Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt.
