German relay team keeps on winning

Calgary (RWH) The German quartet has won the Viessmann Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW to round off the fourth event of the luge winter season. The relay team comprising coach Norbert Loch’s protégés Tatjana Hüfner, Felix Loch and the doubles duo of Toni Eggert/Sascha Benecken celebrated their 34th individual victory to continue their unbeaten run in the Olympic winter season. Prior to the competition, all members of the relay team had also won their individual events in Calgary, Canada.
Second place went to host nation Canada in the formation of Alex Gough, Sam Edney, and the doubles duo of Tristan Walker/Justin Snith. The Austrian team featuring Miriam Kastlunger, Wolfgang Kindl and the doubles pairing of Peter Penz/Georg Fischler came home in third place.
Germany leads the overall standings on 300 points ahead of Canada (230) and Austria (205).
