German relay team suffers first World Championship defeat

Winterberg (RWH) The German team relay squad has endured its first ever defeat at the Luge World Championships. The Russian quartet of Tatyana Ivanova, Semen Pavlichenko and the doubles pairing of Yuzhakov/Prokhorov took the win at the 48th World Championships of the International Luge Federation (FIL) in Winterberg (GER).

Silver went to the Austrian team of Hannah Prock, Reinhard Egger and Steu/Koller. The German squad comprising Natalie Geisenberger, Felix Loch and Eggert/Benecken had to settle for bronze.
