Koenigssee (pps) Germany’s luge team won the last event of the Viessmann Luge World Cup in Koenigssee, Germany, on Sunday. The squad with Natalie Geisenberger, Felix Loch and Tobias Wendl-Tobias Arlt claimed the podium’s top spot at the Viessmann Luge World Cup Team Relay presented by BMW. It was the 18th success of Germany in the Team Relay since the 2010-2011 season, when the event was included within the World Cup program.
While Germany celebrated the fourth victory of the season, Canada’s team with Alex Gough, Sam Edney and Tristan Walker-Justin Snith earned a second place finish. Italy with Sandra Gasparini, Armin Zoeggeler and Ludwig Rieder-Patrick Rastner claimed the third place.
Germany is leading the overall Viessmann Luge World Cup standings with
439 points, followed by Italy (350 points) in second position and the U.S.A. with 345 points in third place.
