Oberhof (pps) After the Viessmann Luge World Cup in Oberhof Germany’s head coach Norbert Loch will nominate the team for the 42nd FIL Luge World Championships in Cesana, Italy, to take place on January 29-30, 2011. As the 48-year old announced, it remains to be seen if Germany’s three starting places in the doubles’ will all be occupied. However, three-time winners this season, Tobias Wendl-Tobias Arlt, as well as Toni Eggert-Sascha Benecken have already punched their World Championship ticket. In the women’s singles the four starting places will go to Olympic champion Tatjana Huefner, Olympic bronze medallist Natalie Geisenberger, Olympic fifth-placed Anke Wischnewski and junior World champion Carina Schwab. The starting places in the men’s singles will surely go to Olympic champion Felix Loch, Olympic runner-up David Moeller and Olympic fifth-placed Andi Langenhan. Johannes Ludwig and Jan Eichhorn will have to fight for the fourth spot.
