Germany’s team relay quartet clinches 35th win

Oberhof (RWH) The German relay quartet has cause for a mini celebration. At the Viessmann Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW, the German team took its 35th race win since the event became a World Cup discipline in winter 2010, setting a new track record of 2:20.952 minutes in the process. The previous best time was 2:21.465 minutes.
In the line-up of Dajana Eitberger, Felix Loch and Toni Eggert/Sascha Benecken, the quartet secured their fourth victory of the season ahead of the second-placed Latvian squad of Eliza Cauce, Arturs Darznieks, and Andris Sics/Juris Sics. The Austrian team featuring Hannah Prock, Reinhard Egger and Peter Penz/Georg Fischler came third.
After five of six events, Germany still leads the overall standings with 400 points, despite being disqualified in Königssee. Austria is second (345) while Canada is third (331), having finished seventh in Oberhof.
