Park City (pps) At the end of the 38th World Championships in Luge in Park City USA) Germany won the team competition. In the line-up with Andre Flor-schütz/Torsten Wustlich, Sylke Otto and Georg Hackl team Germany celebrated its 5th victory in a row. In total it was the eight title for Germany (2:15,696 minutes) in team competition.
Silver went to Team USA in the line-up with Mark Grimmette/Brian Martin, Ashley Hayden and Tony Benshoof (2:15,859). The bronze medal captured Italy with Chris-tian Oberstolz/Patrick Gruber, Anastasia Oberstolz-Antonova and Armin Zöggeler (2:15, 933).
Germany won also the overall competition followed USA and Italy.
Germany was the most successful nation at the Worlds with three gold, three Silver and two bronze medals. Second place captured Italy with one gold and one silver medal. USA finished on third place with one silver and one bronze medal.
Armin Zöggeler (ITA) won in Park City his 5th title, Georg (GER) his 11th medal overall at Worlds. Sylke Otto (GER) tied with Margit Schumann (former GDR); both won four titles. An-dre Florschütz/Torsten Wustlich won Gold at the World s for the second time after 2001 in Calgary.
