Lake Placid (pps) At the end of Viessmann Luge World Cup in Lake Placid (New York) Team Germany won the team competition. In the line up with Sebastian Schmidt/Andre Forker, Silke Kraushaar and David Möller Germany took the victory in a total time with 2:24,423 seconds. Second Place went to Italy (2:25,890) with Christian Oberstolz/Patrick Gruber, Anastasia Antonova-Oberstolz and Armin Zöggeler followed by Austria (2:26,051) with Andreas Linger/Wolfgang Linger, Veronika Halder and Martin Abentung.

Next week in Calgary there will be the first test of a relay in Luge.

Germany won in Lake Placid all four competitions. For the first time Schmidt/Forker won a doubles race, Barbara Niedernhuber captured the victory by womens and World Champion Möller won the men`s race.
