Germany wins team relay ahead of Russia and Latvia

Oberhof (RWH) As expected, host nation Germany has clinched victory in the fourth Viessmann Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW in Oberhof (GER). The current World Champions, featuring a line-up of Natalie Geisenberger, Felix Loch and the doubles duo Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt, set a new track record of 2:21.465 minutes to win the event ahead of the second-placed Russian squad consisting of Tatyana Ivanova, Roman Repilov and Alexander Denisyev/Vladislav Antonov. The Latvian contingent finished third with Eliza Cauce, Inars Kivlenieks and Oskars Gudramovics/Peteris Kalnins.
Germany leads the overall standings with 331 points after four of six events. Canada currently lies second overall on 270 points, having finished fourth in Oberhof, followed by Russia with the same number of points. The US team could only manage seventh in Thuringia and have now dropped back to fourth in the overall standings on 261 points.
