Great sign of solidarity                  

Yanqing (FIL) In an extraordinary team captain’s meeting on Thursday, November 18, 2021, the team leaders of all nations unanimously voted in favour of two additional training runs for the lugers affected by the Covid cases as direct contacts.

The Austrians Hannah Prock and Jonas Müller, the two Russian brothers Roman and Pavel Repilov, the Romanian luge athletes Cesara Curmei and Eduard Craciun received a maximum of 15 training runs, while the other athletes were allowed 30 runs. The German Olympic doubles' champions Wendl/Arlt were allowed to do one additional training run because the official World Cup training had been cancelled for them due to a suspected covid test.

FIL President Einars Fogelis spoke of a "great sign of fair play" among the nations.

The training runs will be made up on Friday, 19 November by the athletes of the four affected nations.
