Laas (PMA) She is 19 years old and comes from South Tyrol. Greta Pinggera is from Laas, the city that hosts second GRM Group Luge World Cup on Natural Track. At the moment she is placed second in the overall World Cup after being runner-up at the parallel event held at Kühtai, Austria. You finished in second place at the first World Cup of the current season. A start you expected? The start of the season was great for me. I went in the race without great expectations. The second place was unexpected and therefore all the more beautiful. The next event is your home race in Laas. What can your fans expect from you? Home is always a big challenge for an athlete. The expectations of the fans are high. I have to deal with this additional pressure. I feel good and know if everything works, then I 'm on my home track pretty fast. Can you present your home track? What are the difficulties and what do you like most about it? Laas is one of the most challenging natural tracks. It contains all difficulties. In the first corners you have to luge precise to generate maximum speed. At the middle of the track there is a chicane where a rapid change is needed. Last part is a long straight at speeds up to 80 km/h. I like the track because it is very varied and I’m always fast at the finish line. During the World Championships you are celebrating your birthday. Do you have a special request for it? Of course, a medal would be a great birthday present. I do not know the track in St. Sebastian, but it can be a mental advantage to go in a major event without "prejudices ". The Italian national team is a colourful mix of young and experienced athletes. Is it? The mood in the team is great. We all get along perfectly, though the age difference is often large. For younger athletes this is a big advantage because we get a lot of tips and advice from our older colleagues. It is never boring for us. Just after my return to the natural track I've found it's like a little family. Off the track what are your hobbies? Sports play a large role in my life. I love to be in the mountains. Friendship is also important for me and I really enjoy it to cook and enjoy a meal together with friends. What are your future career goals? My goals are ambitious. I want to be World Champion and to win the Overall World Cup. That will be the maximum a Natural Track athlete can achieve at the moment.
