Passeier (ck) - The natural track community does not get a break this January. Just done with the spectacular parallel event at Seiser Alm, everybody had to move on the next stop, Moos in Passeier/Moso in Passirio, well known to most athletes. Tina Unterberger (AUT) and Michael Scheikl (AUT) will arrive there in their new and so far unknown roles as world cup leaders. However, Patrick Pigneter (ITA) and Ekatharina Lavrentjeva (RUS) will try their best to claim back their number one positions. But it was also in Passeier where Patrick Pigneter was defeated by Thomas Kammerlander, the winner of the Seiser Alm parallel race. Evelin Lanthaler (ITA), who missed the podium in the parallel race, can look forward to her home race. Carmen Planötscher (ITA) will have to deliver another proof of her talent after her unexpected win last weekend. Only in the doubles event the world was not turned upside down. Patrick Pigneter/Florian Clara (ITA) will come to Passeier as the world cup leaders. However, they have to share this position with Russia’s Aleksandr Egorov/Petr Popov. In the strong Austrian team, up-and-coming Christoph Regensburger/Dominik Holzknecht will fight against Rupert Brüggler/Tobias Angerer for the one remaining spot in the world cup. Only Christian Schopf/Andreas Schopf, ranked third in the world cup, are seeded. Training runs start Friday at 10am, followed by qualification runs at 1pm.
