
Gruber and Lanthaler set fastest qualification times
Deutschnofen (PMA) - Alex Gruber and Evelin Lanthaler from Italy have set the fastest times at the qualification of the fifth Luge World Cup on Natural Track at Deutschnofen in Italy. They are in the lead at the final competition run on Sunday.
Gruber, who won the race in Deutschnofen last year, is the fastest at the men’s qualification. Patrick Pigneter (ITA) finishes second, with a gap of 11 hundredths. Austrian Thomas Kammerlander and Florian Glatzl place third and fourth. Also after the women’s qualification there is an Italian one-two. Evelin Lanthaler, who is leading the Overall World Cup finishes first, her team and room-mate Greta Pinggera is second. Ekaterina Lavrentyeva (RUS), Sara Bachmann (ITA) and Tina Unterberger (AUT) are in the hunt.
