The award, named after one of the founders of the Forum Nordicum, is a tribute to journalists, who have rendered outstanding services for Nordic Skiing. Former prize winners are Uwe Jentsch (GER), Jo Schmid (AU), Toni Nötzle (SUI) or Werner Rabe (GER).

“To receive this award as the first ever woman makes me proud,” Gruner said. ”Since 2001 I’m a member of the Forum, winter sport is my family. I’m very pleased to be one of the now numerous women, who are well respected in the masculine domain of sports journalism.
