Host Austria wins team competition

Innsbruck-Igls (RWH) At the 34th Junior World Championships of the International Luge Federation (FIL) in Innsbruck-Igls Germany’s hopefuls secured all titles in single’s races, host Austria (Lisa Schulte, Bastian Schulte and Juri Gatt/Riccardo Schöpf) won gold in the team competition.

After the victories of Cheyenne Rosenthal and Max Langenhan on Friday Hannes Orlamünder/Paul Gubitz took home Gold in doubles. They relegated the two Russian pairs of  Dmiitry Buchnev/Daniil Kilseev and Andrey Shander/Semen Mikov to Silver and Bronze.

Three weeks before his 20th birthday Langenhan defended his title successfully. Silver and Bronze secured Austria’s Bastian Schulte and Lukas Gufler from Italy. In women’s competition gold went to Cheyenne Rosenthal followed by Verena Hofer from Italy and Jessica Degenhardt (GER). In team competetoon Silver went to Germany and Bronze to Russia.
