Host Russia dominates Nation’s Cup in Sochi

Sochi (RWH) Host Russia has dominated the Nation’s Cup on the Olympic track of Sochi. In the qualification race for the Viessmann World Cup this weekend Victoriia Demchenko won the women’s race, in men’s race the winner was Aleksandr Stepichev and in doubles their teammates Andrei Bogdanov/Andrei Medvedev.

The overall victories in Nation’s cup went to Viktoriia Demchenko, Austria’s Nico Gleirscher and Vsevolod Kashkin/Konstantin Korshunov from Russia. The Awards were handed over by the President of the International Luge Federation (FIL), Josef Fendt of Germany.

Viktoriia Demchenko won the Nation’s Cup in „Sanki Sliding Centre“ in front of her teammate Ekaterina Katnikova and Raluca Stramaturaru from Romania. In men’s race Stepichev won ahead of Tucker West (USA) and Stepan Fedorov (RUS). Second and third place in Doubles event went to Stanislav Maltcev/Dmitrii Khalilov (RUS) and Wojciech Chmielewski/Jakub Kowalewski (POL).
