Berchtesgaden (pps) In preparation for the 55th Congress of the International Luge Federation (FIL) to be held in Innsbruck, Austria, on June 22/23, the expert commissions for sport and technical affairs will meet. The meetings, which will take place in St. Leonhard near Salzburg from April 27 to 29, will focus on the analysis of the past winter and an exchange of ideas regarding future competition rules.
The newly-elected athletes’ representatives, Jeff Christie (Canada) and Martins Rubenis (Latvia) will participate in the meetings for the first time. New commissions members also include the three-time Olympic champion Georg Hackl (Germany) and Markus Prock (Austria), who won the overall luge World Cup ten times during his career.
At the same time, the sport and technical commissions for natural track luge will meet as well, with participation of the newly-elected athletes’ representatives Florian Batkowski (AUT) and Anton Blasbichler (ITA).
