Berchtesgaden (RWH) Serkan Yasar, the newly elected President of the national Turkish association, paid his first official visit to the International Luge Federation (FIL) office in Berchtesgaden. Discussions between the five-member delegation and FIL President Josef Fendt centred on the development of luge in Turkey.

There is currently plenty of activity on both artificial and natural tracks: promising young Turkish lugers took part in a course on the artificial track in Königssee as part of the FIL luge school, and Turkish natural track lugers are also due to compete in the GRM World Cup. The newly built natural track at the Turkish winter sports centre in Erzurum is scheduled to open in November.
