Innsbruck (RWH) Innsbruck will host its sixth congress of the International Luge Federation (FIL). For the second time since 1977 elections are on the agenda of the 62nd FIL Congress in Tyrol’s capital.

Innsbruck, host of the 2012 Youth Olympic Games (YOG), organized the 2007 Congress “50 years of FIL”. Additionally, the two-time Olympic host city (1964 and 1976) welcomed the FIL for its annual Congress in 1964, 1976, 1977 and 1993.

A total of five FIL Congresses were staged in Berchtesgaden (Germany). Switzerland’s Davos hosted four Congresses (1954, 1957, 1965 and 2003), among them the FIL Founding Congress in 1957.

The Congress starts at 9:00 hrs on Friday (June 20) and Saturday (June 21).
