Bischofswiesen (pps) Rudi Größwang from the agency RGS (Rudi Größwang Service) celebrated his 60th birthday on April 1. After the end of his career as a luge athlete, Größwang, who finished fourth at the 1976 Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in doubles together with his partner Stefan Hölzlwimmer, has remained closely connected to his sport. For more than ten years, he has been involved in the marketing business of the International Luge Federation (FIL).
The sponsorship contracts with the long-time FIL partners Viessmann and Eberspächer have been concluded via the agency RGS. The “Kufenstüberl” created by him is one of the most popular meeting places of athletes, coaches, officials and media representatives at Olympic Winter Games. At the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada, the „Kufenstüberl“ will open its gates again at a golf club in Whistler.
Twice during his career as a luge athlete, Rudi Größwang won bronze at European Championships: in 1972 with Peter Reichenwallner and in 1977 with Stefan Hölzlwimmer. Besides, Größwang won the German championships in doubles three times, in 1974 with Peter Reichenwallner as well as in 1976 and 1978 with Stefan Hölzlwimmer.
