IOC Coordination Commission ends final visit with positive conclusion

PyeongChang (RWH) With little more than 160 days to go to the 2018 Winter Olympics, the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Coordination Commission finished its ninth and final visit to Korean host city PyeongChang with a positive conclusion.
“Over the course of our three-day evaluation visit, PyeongChang’s readiness to host the Olympic Winter Games 2018 was highlighted”, said IOC Coordination Commission Chair Gunilla Lindberg. “The Organising Committee is well on its way to delivering successful Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.”
During its visit, the Commission visited Olympic venues and heard reports, for example about services for athletes, spectator experience, marketing or communications. Additionally to the Commission members, partners and government officials, also all seven International Olympic Winter Sports Federations were on site.
The International Luge Federation (FIL) was represented by President Josef Fendt (GER) and Executive Director Christoph Schweiger (AUT).
