Berchtesgaden (pps) The Viessmann Luge World Cup to be held at the artificially refrigerated track at Königssee will receive a VIP visit. Dr. Thomas Bach, Vice-President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and President of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), will come on Saturday, January 6, to visit the luge track at Königssee together with Josef Fendt, President of the International Luge Federation.
The economist-lawyer from Tauberbischofsheim, who won Olympic gold in fencing together with the German foil fencing team at the 1976 Olympic Summer Games in Montreal, is a downright friend of the sport of luge. In the summer of 2006, Bach also attended the FIL Congress in Berchtesgaden.
