Italy's luge athletes start into the ice season

Lillehammer (FIL/04 Oct 2023) After the training block on the ice track at Königssee in Bavaria, the Italian national luge team led by head coach Kurt Brugger spent three days in the South Tyrolean spa town of Meransen for final athletic preparations for the new season. From Monday, September 25, to Wednesday, September 27, Fischnaller and Co. completed a series of tests in Meransen. The team is led by the winner of the 2022/2023 EBERSPÄCHER Luge World Cup, Dominik Fischnaller.
On October 2, the Italian national luge team left for Lillehammer, Norway, where the first runs on ice will take place. Luge on the 1994 Olympic track in Lillehammer, Norway, is on the program until Sunday, October 8. The junior group will also be present in Scandinavia.

Technical director Armin Zöggeler nominated Dominik Fischnaller, Leon Felderer, Emanuel Rieder, Fabian Malleier, Lukas Gufler, Simon Kainzwaldner, Alex Gufler, Ivan Nagler, Ludwig Rieder, Patrick Rastner, Lukas Peccei, Andrea Voetter, Verena Hofer, Marion Oberhofer and Nina Zöggeler, accompanied by coaches Kurt Brugger, Oswald Haselrieder, Wilfried Huber, Walter Plaikner, Juris Sics and Julia Hauser as well as supervisor Matthias Schnitzer.
The first official EBERSPÄCHER World Cup event is scheduled for December 6-9 in Lake Placid, USA. In addition to the senior national team, the juniors with Manuel Weissensteiner, Philipp Brunner, Leon Haselrieder, Katharina Kofler and Alexandra Oberstolz as well as the technicians Klaus Kofler, Kevin Fischnaller, Günther Taschler and Christian Oberstolz are expected in the Norwegian resort until October 12.
