The FISI President was enthusiastic after his visit to Passeier: “It was my first time visiting a Luge World Cup on Natural Track. It is a thrilling sport that definitely deserves more attention. The winter sports association FISI has already submitted the proposal to the International Olympic Committee that Luge on Natural Track becomes an Olympic discipline until the 2026 Games in Milan / Cortina. There are three important reasons for this: On the one hand, there are a lot of volunteers who work hard for it and would earn it because of it. Then there are the athletes who achieve top athletic performance and there is also the environmental aspect. Luge on Natural Track is a sport in total harmony with nature. I am optimistic we can see Luge on Natural Track in 2026 ”.
