EBERSPAECHER Team Relay Luge World Cup presented by BMW
Italy triumphs in the team relay
Park City (FIL/14 Dec 2025) The EBERSPAECHER World Cup presented by BMW in Park City (USA) ended with the Team Relay competition. And this final race produced a surprising result with Italy as the deserved winner.
Verena Hofer, Ivan Nagler/Fabian Malleier, Leon Felderer, and Andrea Vötter/Marion Oberhofer were the fastest in almost all split times. They once again proved their good form and that the characteristics of the track at Utah Olympic Park suit them perfectly. They completed the four runs in 3:05.855 minutes.
Second place went to Team Austria with Dorothea Schwarz, Juri Gatt/Riccardo Schöpf, Jonas Müller, and Selina Egle/Lara Kipp. They finished 0.207 seconds behind. The US team with Summer Britcher, Zachary Di Gregorio/Sean Hollander, Jonathan Gustafson, and Chevonne Forgan/Sophia Kirkby was particularly cheered by the fans along the track and in the finish area. They were 0.566 seconds slower than the winners.
Latvia came in fourth, less than a second behind (0.961). The team consisted of Kendija Aparjode, Martins Bots/Roberts Plume, Gints Berzins, and Anda Upite/Madara Pavlova. The German team, which had won 51 of the 88 relay races to date, finished in fifth place. Julia Taubitz, Toni Eggert/Florian Müller, Max Langenhan, and Dajana Eitberger/Magdalena Matschina were 1.544 seconds behind. Eitberger/Matschina even crashed in the final curve and slid across the finish line. “It was very disappointing, no one had skied straight down,” was head coach Patric Leitner's analysis, “but I'm just glad that Dajana and Magdalena weren't injured.”
Ukraine followed in sixth place, 3.150 seconds behind, with Yulianna Tunytska, Danyil Martsinovskyi/Bohan Babura, Anton Dukach, and Olena Stetskiv/Oleksandra Mokh.
