Business studies and opening a brewery as new goals Calgary (pps) Jeff Christie (CAN) has ended his athletic career. This was announced by the Canadian Luge Association (CLA) in a press release. During his 16-year sporting career, the longtime athletes’ representative of the International Luge Federation (FIL) participated in the 2006 and 2010 Olympic Winter Games, both times earning a 14th place. At the 2008 FIL Luge World Championships, he finished in eleventh position; in 2005, he earned fifth place in a Viessmann World Cup. Now the 28-year-old is heading back to school and will begin a Bachelor of Commerce program at Royal Roads University as a first step of pursuing a new dream in life - open his own brewery. “I have achieved my goals in luge“, Christie is quoted in CLA’s press release, „and I feel now is the right time to prepare myself for the next step of my life in the business world.”
