Jessica Degenhardt and Gints Berzins nominated for European Young Talent Award

Rome (RWH) Jessica Degenhardt from Germany and the Latvian Gints Berzins have been nominated in the final selection for the Piotr Nurowski Prize for Europe's best young athletes in winter sports. The award is presented by the European Olympic Committee (EOC), the umbrella organisation of the National Olympic Committees in Europe, based in Rome (ITA). According to an EOC letter, it is currently still open when the prize will be awarded due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Jessica Degenhardt had won gold in the doubles' event at the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) 2020 together with Vanessa Schneider and silver in women's singles. Gints Berzins won the men's event and took bronze with the Latvian Team Relay Event. 

Also nominated were Lisa-Marie Hirner (AUT), Youth Olympic Champion in Nordic Combined, the Czech Matej Svancer, Freestyle Youth Olympic Champion, and Linda Zingerle, who won gold in the biathlon with Italy's relay team and silver with the sprint team.
