Berchtesgaden (FIL) Josef Fendt, President of the International Luge Federation (FIL), and his Secretary General Svein Romstad have seized the opportunity of their participation in the SportAccord Congress held in Beijing at the end of April to talk about the sport of luge in several other meetings.
At SportAccord, an annual international sports convention, representatives from more than 100 International Sports Federations affiliated to GAISF (General Association of International Sports Federations), ASOIF (Association of Summer Olympic International Federations) and AIOWF (Association of the International Olympic Winter Sports Federations), come together with the International Olympic Committee Executive Board, bidding and organizing committees, sponsors, rights holders and other specialists.
On the occasion of the Congress, Fendt and Romstad held further meetings as well, among others with representatives of the organizing committee for the XXI. Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver (VANOC), IOC members and representatives of other international sport federations.
Fendt also seized the opportunity to meet with the management of the Chinese luge federation and executive officials of the Korean luge federation during a stopover in Korea. Both meetings focused on the further development of the sport of luge in Asia.
