Julia Taubitz, Inars Kivlenieks and Yuzhakov/Prokhorov winner of Nationscup

Sigulda (RWH) Former Junior World Champion Julia Taubitz from Germany has won the Nationscup at Sigulda. In the qualification race for the Viessmann Luge World Cup this weekend winner of the men’s race was local hero Inars Kivlenieks. At the same time he won the overall standings of the Nationscup. Russia’s Vladislav Yuzhakov/Jurii Prokhorov became winner of the doubles race.

While Julia Taubitz won in front of Kimberley McRae (CAN) and Eliza Cauce (LAT) Romania’s Raluca Stramaturaru secured the victory in the overall standings. Stramaturaru finished 6th place last week at the Viessmann Luge World Cup at Lillehammer (NOR). Kivlenieks took home victory in front of Stepan Fedorov and Maksim Aravin, both from Russia. In the overall standings second and third place went to Nico Gleirscher (AUT) and Italy’s Emanuel Rieder.

In doubles Latvia’s Oskars Gudramovics/Peteris Kalnins became overall winners in front of Wojciech Chmielewski/Jakub Kowalewski, who have been disqualified in the last race.
