Winterberg (pps) The last titles at the junior’s World Championships in Winterberg went to local hero Madeleine Teuber and Russia’s Valeri Bespalov. The 15-year-old girl from Winterberg won with an advantage of 5 thousands of a second in front of Natalie Geisenberger (GER), who won last year in Calgary (CAN). Bronze went to Julia Clukey (USA). Winner of the men’s race was Russia’s Valeri Bespalov followed by Austria’s Manuel Pflister and Latvia’s Rivers Steins. Due to heavy wind the race was finishef after just one run. The day before both Gold Medals went to Germany. Germany finished first in the team competition in the line-up with Natalie Geisenberger, Johannes Ludwig and Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt followed by Canada (Meaghan Simister, Mike Jepson and Marshall Savill/Aaron Christesen) and Russia (Viktoria Kneib, Valeri Bespalov und Dimitri Khamkin/Vladimir Boytsov). In doubles all the medals went to Germany. Wendl/Arlt won gold followed by Ronny Pietrasik/Christian Weise and Sandro Stielicke/Sandro Pelzer. Fourth place went to Russia’s Dimitri Khamkin/Vladimir Boytsov.
