Laas / Italy (pps) Greta Pinggera of Laas in South Tyrol, female junior World Champion in natural track luge, is thinking about a change to artificial track luge. “I believe I can’t achieve any more in natural luge. I’m very ambitious and I want to be a professional luger – and that’s something I can only accomplish in artificial luge,” the 19-year old, who earned the junior World Championship title in Vatra Dornei (Romania) in February, is quoted by the website www.sportnews.bz. Pinggera secured a total of seven podium finishes in the GRM World Cup series in natural luge.

Together with the other 19-year old Olympians Andrea Vötter, who earned a 19th place result at the Winter Games in Sochi (Russia), and Sandra Robatscher (22nd at the Olympics), Pinggera could well close the gap in Italy that was left after Sandra Gasparini ended her active luge career.
