Junior World Championships 2026 Relocated to Umhausen
Junior title events from 30 January to 1 February
The 15th FIL Alpine Luge Junior World Championships 2026 will not take place in Mariazell (AUT) as originally planned. Umhausen (AUT) will step in as the new host venue for the championships.

Berchtesgaden (FIL/19 January 2026) – Change to the junior racing calendar: Following consultations with Vice President Alpine Luge Sorin Buta, Sports Director Andreas Castiglioni and the Austrian Luge Federation, SV Umhausen has agreed at short notice to take over the organisation of the FIL Alpine Luge Junior World Championships from 29 January to 1 February 2026.
The FIL Executive Committee has approved this proposal and extends its sincere thanks to SV Umhausen for assuming responsibility for the event and its organisation at such short notice.

Friday, 30 January
12:00 – Team captains’ meeting
13:30 – 1st run, national training singles
15:00 – 2nd run, national training singles
17:00 – 1st run, national training doubles
17:30 – 2nd run, national training doubles
18:00 – Opening ceremony in the finish area
Saturday, 31 January
09:30 – 1st competition run, doubles
10:15 – 2nd competition run, doubles, followed by flower ceremony
10:30 – 1st competition run, women’s singles
Followed by 1st competition run, men’s singles
12:00 – 2nd competition run, women’s singles
Sunday, 1 February
09:30 – 2nd competition run, men’s singles
Followed by final run, women’s singles, followed by flower ceremony
11:15 – Final run, men’s singles, followed by flower ceremony
12:30 – Team competition, followed by flower ceremony
