The training day at the 13th FIL Luge Junior World Championships on natural track in Jaufental/Val di Giovo (ITA) went very well. The distances on the "Tonnerboden-track" are extremely tight, and the favorites were not always in front.

The training runs took place on Friday in perfect conditions on the 658 meter long "Tonnerboden-track“. The overall winner of the Junior World Cup, Riccarda Ruetz (AUT) and local hero Katharina Hofer (ITA) finished ex-aequo first in the first training session (54.09 seconds). Jenny Castiglioni (ITA), another South Tyrolean, was 0.37 seconds behind in third place. In the second training run, Ruetz again set the best time in 53.84 seconds, ahead of Hofer (+0.31 seconds) and Sarah Schiller (GER/+0.35 seconds).
