Berchtesgaden (PMA) – After New Year's Day the Junior World Cup on Natural Track of the International Luge Federation (FIL) is starting at Obdach-Winterleiten. The Austrian track is hosting the first Junior World Cup of the season from 2nd to 3rd January. Athletes from ten different countries have entered the first competition.
Second stage is placed at Seiser Alm. At the largest alpine pasture in all of Europe the athletes will participate at the premiere of the pursuit race. Round by round athletes are eliminated in knock-out-duels. Only the best six athletes will race in the final run and fight for the victory.
After Seiser Alm the Junior World Cup is moving to Austria. Two races are held in Umhausen and Kindberg, followed by the season’s highlight. Latsch in Italy is hosting the 10th FIL Junior World Championships in February. At the end of the season the athletes participate at the FIL Youth Games in St. Sebastian.
